What does a score of 200 mean for the GRE?
By Forinfos - 08/07/2025 - 0 comments
Prior to 2011, 200 was the minimum score for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Graduate schools and some business schools use the GRE as part of their application process.
The Educational Testing Service (ETS) administers the exam. It has three sections: verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing. As of January 2015, the exam uses a scoring scale of 130-170. Graduate programs use the test to measure skills in critical thinking, problem solving, recognizing patterns, drawing conclusions, writing and communicating. A key difference in the current exam is that it is a multistage test. This means it becomes progressively difficult based on previous answers.
