For adults age 18 and over, the recommended dosage of CoQ10 when used as a supplement is between 22 and 400 milligrams, according to Mayo Clinic. Dosage varies, however, when CoQ10 is recommended as a treatment for various conditions.
When recommended for treating Alzheimer’s disease, CoQ10 is taken in 400-milligram doses, while CoQ10 taken to treat kidney failure is taken in doses of 180 to 200 milligrams daily, notes Mayo Clinic. It is sometimes also recommended for use in conjunction with other medications to treat some conditions. For example, to treat heart disorders, a 300-milligram dose three times daily is given along with a 20-milligram dose of Lipitor.
