Effective ways to kill fleas are by treating pets with different types of pesticides and treating the home. Getting rid of the full-grown fleas and the flea eggs in the home is crucial.

Since flea problems begin on pets, start there. Use a flea control product that is safe to use on pets, such as Advantage, Frontline Plus or Revolution. There are also some stronger flea products prescribed by veterinarians, such as Comfortis. After treating the pets, start treating outside the home and inside with a pesticide. Inside the home, wash all linens, blankets and pet beds in hot water to kill the fleas and flea eggs. Vacuum all carpets, rugs and fabric furniture, and dispose of the vacuum contents outdoors.
