How do you eject a CD from a Mac?

To a eject a CD from a Mac, click the icon for the CD or DVD, and drag it to the trash icon. The disc ejects without deleting any data.

  1. Click the correct icon on your computer's desktop

    Go to the desktop, and click the CD or DVD icon.

  2. Drag the icon to the Trash file

    Hold the icon, and drag it to the Trash file on your toolbar. This prompts the disc to eject from your computer immediately.

  3. Remove the disc from the Mac

    Grab the disc, remove it from the side of the Mac, and place it in a secure area.
