Who is eligible for a Military Star credit card?

As of 2015, active and former member of the United States armed services are able to apply for a Military Star credit card regardless of branch. To receive a credit card, the applicant must also possess a healthy credit rating to demonstrate responsible handling of credit and finances.

The basic Military Star Card only allows military personnel to purchase goods at traditional Military Star Card Exchange stores. These stores can be operated by either the Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Army or Navy. Active and retired military personnel must apply for a Military Star Rewards MasterCard to purchase goods outside of military bases.
