Ingredients:

• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1/4 cup light brown sugar
• 2 tablespoons water
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 2 cups mixed nuts. Hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans and almonds work well.

Directions:

1. Mix the dry spices and set aside.
2. In a small, dry skillet, heat the nuts over low heat. Stir frequently and allow the nuts to toast for about 4 minutes.
3. Add the butter, sugar, water and spices to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly until a glaze forms.
4. Immediately remove the nuts from the heat and transfer to a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Allow the nuts to cool until hardened, about 10 minutes.

5. Store the nuts in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
