The Emerson Piano Company was a company famous for its high quality, expensive pianos. Founded in 1849 in Boston, their pianos are regarded as some of the most exquisite antique pianos ever constructed.

The Emerson Piano Company started off as the W.P. Emerson Piano Company, named after its founder, William P. Emerson. His company quickly earned notoriety through his use of exotic hard woods and lavish cabinetry. When he died in 1870, the company changed its name to The Emerson Piano Company and continued his tradition of fine craftsmanship. However, the company went out of business during the onset of World War II, making these pianos extremely sought-after by collectors and musicians alike.
