How do you enable desktop widgets on Windows 7?

To enable gadgets in Windows 7, simply right click on the Desktop, and go to Gadgets. This brings up a list of the different gadgets installed on the system. Additional gadgets can be installed by clicking on the Get More Gadgets Online link in the lower right corner.

Gadgets in Windows 7 are small programs that display things such as the current time, a calendar and the current weather. More advanced gadgets are also available that display a custom news feed or currency exchange rates. These gadgets can be set to display on top of programs or only when other programs are minimized. In addition, they can be arranged to stay on each of the four sides of the screen.
