What does error code 0x80070424 signify?

Error code 0x80070424 is generated when a user is unable to change the settings for Windows Firewall or Windows Defender. Should the computer be restarted after this error code is seen, another error saying that the Base Filtering Engine Service is not detected on the system will be seen.

The error could occur due to missing registry codes and can be solved by downloading the missing registry files and importing them to the computer's local registry list. After the registry list is updated, the user must restart the computer and then manually modify the computer's registry using regedit. This application can be found by searching for it using the Run function from the start menu.
