Where is Ethiopia located?

The country of Ethiopia is located in eastern Africa. The nation shares its borders with Eritrea to the north and northeast, Djibouti and Somalia to the east, the Sudans to the west and Kenya to the south.

The country occupies roughly 420,000 square miles of highlands and lowlands and bears a high central plateau. The second most-populated country on the continent, its estimated population of 78 million is evenly split among Christians and Muslims. The central city of Addis Ababa is its largest and serves as the capital. The country's main exports include coffee, gold, leather products, live animals, oilseeds and qat, a flowering plant.
