Has it ever snowed in Hawaii?

Hawaii sees snow several times per year. Since the state has several small mountains, they are dusted with snow annually.
The summits of the three tallest volcanoes see more snow than other areas of Hawaii. Generally, the lowlands only see very little amounts of snow in comparison; it only happens a few times a year and it does not stay on the ground for more than a few days. Since 1986, the state has had two blizzard warnings and in 2007, Mauna Kea saw several feet of snow. Hawaii is better known for its mild weather and outdoor warm-weather activities.
