An example of kairos occurs in Act 3, scene 2 of William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" when Marc Antony seizes the opportunity to give a speech over Julius Caesar's corpse. Kairos is a rhetorical term that refers to the opportune moment to make a particular speech.
Adolf Hitler also employed kairos when he began to rise to power. Seeing that the Germans were demoralized by their loss in World War I and the ravages of the Great Depression, he began to tell them stories of German greatness and how to achieve such greatness again. His harsh, racist rhetoric resonated with the German populace because of he employed kairos, reading his audience and their situation.
