Learned traits are those behaviors or responses that humans and animals are not born with the knowledge to do. These traits are learned after birth through various social and environmental factors. For example, a lion cub is not born with the know-how to hunt; the mother teaches the cub the skill in order for survival. Inherited traits are the opposite of learned traits, since these are passed down through offspring. Examples of inherited traits are eye and hair color.
