The marches of John Philip Sousa, including "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and the "Washington Post March," are usually considered patriotic as well.

Modern patriotic American songs include "Over There," "You're a Grand Old Flag," "God Bless America," "This Land Is Your Land," "Ballad of the Green Berets" and Neil Diamond's song "America." Perhaps the most popular modern patriotic song is "Good Bless the U.S.A." by Lee Greenwood. Though written in 1983, it did not gain popularity until the Gulf War in 1991.
