About 80 percent of teen fathers will not marry the mother of the child. The same fathers pay under $800 per year in child support. This is attributed to economic hardships.
30 percent of teenage girls will experience pregnancy prior to turning 20 years old. In the United States, 30 percent accounts for 700,000 young ladies each year.
Research shows the number one reason for teenage girls dropping out of school is due to pregnancy. As a result, less than 50 percent of teenage mothers graduate high school and less than 2 percent receive a college degree by age 30. Children raised without both parents in the home are five times more likely to experience poverty.
