What is National Kids Day?

National Kids Day is a special day created by the national children's charity KidPeace. The purpose of the day is to encourage adults to spend more quality time with children and to celebrate childhood. As of 2014, National Kids Day is celebrated on Aug. 3.

According to KidsPeace, there are three primary goals of National Kids Day. The first is to create an awareness of the needs and values of children. The second is to change the way people look at, and more importantly, treat children. The third goal is to contribute a world in which children can be safe, feel loved, have the freedom to grow and enjoy being young.
