As of 2015, online caregiver training can be accessed through Alz.org and HCInteractive.com. Both websites offer comprehensive training that includes workshops, books, DVDs and a variety of certification options.

The online caregiver training offered through Alz.org is run by the Alzheimer's Association, and provides the training necessary for the "essentiALZ" certification, re-certification and CARES Dementia Care for Families certification. Alz.org also offers advanced certifications, including the essentiALZ Plus Dementia Advanced Care certification and the essentiALZ Plus Dementia-Related Behavior certification. They offer inexpensive certification ranging from $19.95 to $39.95, as well as many free workshops and tutorials.

Online caregiver training can also be acquired through HCInteractive.com, which offers a variety of CARES and essentiALZ certifications. The CARES Basics certification takes approximately four hours to complete and focuses on understanding behavior, communication skills, person-centered care and dementia progression. HCInteractive.com also offers certification bundles.

In addition to the basic certifications, HCInteractive.com also offers advanced certifications, as well as end-of-life care, advanced care, activities of daily living training and dementia care for families. HCInteractive.com offers individual user licenses, 25-user licenses and unlimited-user licenses depending on the user's needs and budget. Users can plan out a program certification plan that works for them by referring to HCInteractive's program recommendations guide.
