Two famous Bigfoot sightings in New York state are a June 22, 2009, sighting on a road near Rhinebeck and a sighting of a young Bigfoot near the Lembo Lake Campground. The second sighting resulted in about 44 seconds of video footage.
According to WTSP 10 News, the town of Whitehall, New York is considered by some Bigfoot enthusiasts to be a hot spot of Bigfoot activity. Bigfoot stories from the area date back hundreds of years, to a time when it was inhabited by native Algonquin and Iroquois tribes. The most famous modern sighting in the area took place in August 1976 during which time multiple people claimed sightings of Bigfoot over a two-day period.
