How fast does an orange tree grow?

Typically, an orange tree grows from a seedling to fruit-bearing maturation in three to six years. However, the growth rate depends on the type of orange tree, the climate, the care received and other factors.
Orange trees require a sunny area but may be grown indoors in colder climates. Standard-size trees need spacing of 12 to 25 feet for optimal growth, and dwarf trees require 6 to 10 feet between mature trees. However, orange trees can bear fruit before tree maturation. During the first years of fruit bearing, it is typical for the trees to produce small and thick-skinned fruit.
