How fast do green beans grow?

Most green beans start to bear between 50 and 60 days after planting, depending on the variety. Green beans germinate between eight and 10 days after planting. They need to be planted directly in the ground after the danger of frost has passed.
Green beans come in the pole variety or the bush variety. The pole variety needs a support to climb on, but they are often indeterminate. This means they produce continuously. Bush beans tend to produce only once, so it's a good idea to stagger the plantings every 14 days or so.
Green beans are easy to grow. They need full sun and prefer soil that's a bit acidic.
