As of September 2015, features of Central Boiler wood furnaces promote heat production, increase efficiency and keep maintenance costs low. For instance, the high-capacity water jacket supplies heat even after the wood has finished burning. The vent cap prevents evaporation.

The insulated doors of the furnaces retain heat and block cold for efficient heat flow. Foam insulation around the water jacket creates an airtight and waterproof enclosure to increase the burning time of wood. A large door makes it easier to load fuel and remove ashes. Chimneys typically consist of two 4-foot sections, but, if necessary, it is possible to add more.
