The John Deere 826 model is a walk behind snowblower that picks up snow and expels it though a side chute. Some of its features include a one-cylinder engine with a four-stroke cycle, eight engine speeds and two sets of controls.
The engine is manufactured by Tecumseh, and it has 5.9 kilowatts of power. The 826 snowblower has a fuel tank with a maximum capacity of 4 quarts, or 3.8 liters, and it runs on regular unleaded 87-octane gasoline. The engine requires lubrication as part of maintenance routine, and the recommended oil is Torq-Gard Supreme oil.
Out of the eight engine speeds available, six of them are forward speeds and two are reverse speeds. The speed selector lever is located on the top-back near the handles, so they can be conveniently reached while pushing the machine. In addition to the speed selector, other controls located near the handles include a traction drive lever, an auger driver level and a discharge chute control.
Lastly, another set of controls is located on the engine above the wheels, and features an engine oil plug, a throttle lever, an ignition key, a choke knob, a startle handle and a knob that can be used to cut the fuel supply to the engine. There is also a bulb that customers can use to prime the engine when adding fuel.
