What is a Fed IMAD Number?
By Forinfos - 09/03/2026 - 0 comments
The Fed IMAD number is used to track a transaction by the Federal Reserve Bank and is derived from the date, destination identifier and sequence number of the transaction, according to the U.S. Treasury Federal Management Service. The Fed IMAD number appears on a Fedwire message.
According to Federal Reserve Bank Services, the IMAD number is also referenced when there is need for reconciliation. This occurs when a Fedwire transaction is not completed properly. The Fedwire transaction is to be transferred again, and the Fed IMAD number associated with the repeated transaction remains the same number used in the original transaction.
