Is there a fee when using online booking with Megabus?

Megabus charges a $1.50 reservation fee in addition to the stated price on all online reservations, as of 2015. This fee is intended to cover bank and administrative charges.

While Megabus's stated prices include sales tax, they exclude any applicable fees. Additional Megabus fees include a $1 charge for changing a reservation 24 hours or longer before the original departure time, a $5 charge to change the reservation between 6 and 24 hours prior to departure and a $1.50 fee for changing any reservation that is added to either of the above. Changed reservations may also be charged higher fares at Megabus's discretion. Megabus reservations can be made by phone, but are charged a $5 reservation fee.
