What do you feed a lionhead goldfish?

Lionhead goldfish are omnivores that eat a wide variety of plant and animal matter. Lionhead goldfish should be fed high-quality fish flakes and freeze-dried foods, including brine shrimp, blood worms and Daphnia. Because of the potential for parasitic contamination, live food is not recommended for this species.

The lionhead goldfish is notable for the massive, fleshy growth that surrounds its head. This growth is so prominent that it affects the fish's vision. Lionhead goldfish also feature short fins and stocky bodies that can reach a length of 6 inches. Due to their slow-moving nature, lionhead goldfish are not suited for placement with fast-moving fish and do best with other species of goldfish.
