What is a field on the computer?
By Forinfos - 01/03/2025 - 0 comments
In computers, a field is a space that holds specific parts of data from a set or a record. Multiple data fields form rows or database records where an entire page full of related data, such as user information, is saved in the same place.
Fields can be of fixed length or variable length, and they can be preset with options for the user to select, or they can be open for the user to type into. Computer users often encounter fixed-length fields to enter small portions of data, such as usernames and passwords. Variable-length fields are used for longer data submissions, such as forum posts, website profiles or article abstracts.
