To file a weekly certification for unemployment in North Carolina, visit the website of North Carolina's Division of Employment Security, follow the link titled "File Your Weekly Certification," and log in to your account. If you do not have access to a computer, you can also file over the phone.

1. Navigate to the Division of Employment Security's website

   Open your Web browser, and go to the website for North Carolina's Division of Employment Security.

2. Log in to your online account

   From the home page, click the link "File Your Weekly Certification," which is listed under the Claimant Services menu tab.

3. Enter your user ID and PIN.

   Your user ID is your Social Security number, and you selected your PIN when you first applied for unemployment. Once you are logged in, you can file your certification for the week.

   To file your weekly certification by phone, call 1-888-372-3453. The call center is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If your Social Security number ends in an odd number, you may call Monday and Wednesday through Saturday. If your Social Security number ends in an even number, you can call Tuesday through Saturday.
