Many consider the Kenback-1 as the first ever personal computer, introduced in 1971 for the price of $750. At this time, the term "personal computer" was still to be coined.
It was in 1975 that Ed Roberts finally introduced the term "personal computer," when he launched the Altair 8800. Going back a few years, the first programmable computer was invented in 1936 by Konrad Zuse. He called his invention the Z1, which he built in his parents' living room. The Z1 had a clock speed of only 1 Hz and a 64-word memory. Konrad Zuse went on to create the Z3 and Z4, landing him the title of father of the computer.
