What are the five properties of water?

Pure water is a colorless and odorless liquid at room temperature. In addition to these two properties, water exists in all three states: solid, liquid and gaseous. It is a universal solvent and dissolves innumerable solutes. Water has a high surface tension.
Water boils at 212 degrees F and freezes at 32 degrees F. Water shows capillary action and, hence, it sticks to the walls of the container. Pure water is not a good conductor of electricity, but when salts or acids are added to water, it becomes a good conductor. Water has a high heat of vaporization, and so it takes longer to get heated. It has a high specific heat capacity, which means that water takes longer to cool down.
