To fix doll hair, wash the hair with a gentle shampoo, soak the hair in a fabric softener to condition it, brush out the knots, and place the hair in braids or curls. Set the curls with boiling water, allow the hair to air dry, and then brush the hair.

1. Wash the doll's hair

   Using baby shampoo, wig shampoo or a mild dish soap, wash the hair and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

2. Apply conditioner to the hair

   Dilute 1 part fabric softener with 3 parts water, and massage the mixture into the doll's hair. Let the hair soak for two hours, and then rinse the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water.

3. Brush and detangle the hair

   Using a wig brush, carefully brush the doll's hair to remove knots and tangles.

4. Curl and set the hair

   Divide the hair into sections. To create a gentle wave with body, braid the hair into three separate braids. For a more defined wave or curl, roll sections of hair onto a bobby pin or a cut straw. If braiding, allow the hair to air dry. To set curls, briefly dip the doll's hair in boiling water before allowing it to air dry.

5. Brush out the hair

   Once the hair is dry, undo the braids or curls, and gently brush out the doll's hair.
