What is a flame angelfish?

A flame angelfish is a dwarf angelfish that is reddish-orange in color with vertical black stripes on its body. It has horizontal black stripes with blue accents on parts of the dorsal and anal fins.

The flame angelfish reaches a maximum size of 4 inches. There are no differences in color between male and female fish.

They can be found in the Central Pacific around Marshall Island, Christmas Island and other small islands in the same vicinity.

When raised in an aquarium, flame angelfish should only be added once the environment is firmly established. They are very sensitive to high levels of copper and can be difficult to breed in an aquarium.
