A flink of cows is a group of at least 12 cows. In more common terms, a group of cows is also referred to as a herd or as "cattle."

The cow became the first livestock animal to have a fully mapped genome in 2009. The average weight of a cow is over 1,000 pounds. Meat that comes from adult cows is referred to as beef whereas meat from young cows, or calves, if referred to as veal. Cows are herbivores and most commonly eat grass.
