What is a floor screed mix?
By Forinfos - 30/03/2025 - 0 comments
A floor screed mix is a mixture of sand and cement used as base or subflooring in buildings. The mixture consists of three to five parts sand per one part cement.
Screed is typically reinforced with metal mesh or polypropylene to strengthen the floor. After floor screed is poured and leveled, it must be left untouched for 24 to 48 hours to ensure its integrity. After 48 hours, heavy traffic must be limited until the final floor is laid.
Screed can be mixed at home or purchased pre-mixed and delivered to the building site to ensure the proper mix ratio.
