Littmus Lozenges are a fictional candy mentioned in the children's book "Because of Winn-Dixie" by Kate DiCamillo. In the book, the candies are made by Littmus W. Block, and they contain sorrow as a key ingredient. People who eat the candy taste the sweetness and remember their sorrows.
The Littmus Lozenges were said to taste like root beer and strawberry. Their maker had suffered numerous sorrows in his life.
"Because of Winn-Dixie" was published in 2000 and was adapted into a movie in 2005. The book won many awards and was placed on the Teachers' Top 100 Books for Children list in 2007.
