There is no definitive answer to what the "VO" in Seagram's VO Canadian whisky stands for. Some claim that it means "Very Old," while others claim that it means "Very Own."
Seagram's VO blended Canadian whisky was created in 1913 by Joseph E. Seagram. He wanted to make a special blend of his best whiskies in celebration of his son's birthday and had such a success with the concoction that he began to bottle and sell it as its own brand. Today, the Seagram's VO brand is owned by Diageo, who released a special edition of it in 2013 to celebrate its centennial.
