Sunflower and sesame oil, peanuts, mayonnaise and walnuts all contain linoleic acid. This acid can also be acquired through certain vitamins and supplements.
Linoleic acid is a fatty acid that is needed for a well-balanced diet. This acid can be found in many oils, such as sesame, sunflower and grapeseed oils. In order to get the most nutrients from the linoleic acid, the oil should not be heated. Using the oils in salad dressings or spreads is an ideal way to incorporate this nutrient into the diet. Linoleic acid has been shown in studies to help patients with multiple sclerosis slow down the progression of their symptoms.
