What is the force of gravity on Mercury?

According to NASA, the surface gravity of Mercury is 12.1 feet per second squared. In comparison with Earth, this means that a person weighing 100 pounds on Earth would only weigh 38 pounds on Mercury.

Mercury is nearly the same size as Earth's moon, and this makes it the smallest planet in the solar system. It is also the closest planet to the sun at a distance of around 36 million miles. The planet has a much shorter year than Earth at only 88 Earth days, however, it takes more than 59 Earth days for a single day to pass on Mercury. Thus, it can be thought of as orbiting the sun quickly, but spinning upon its own axis more slowly in comparison to Earth.
