Who found the Titanic?

Ocean explorer Robert Ballard found the wreckage of the sunken RMS Titanic in 1986. He is also credited with discovering the sunken German battleship Bismarck and other shipwrecks. Ballard has conducted more than 120 deep-sea expeditions.
Ballard is also known for his discovery of hydrothermal vents during his explorations, and he pioneered the use of submarines for deep-sea diving. Among his other accomplishments, Ballard is considered a major contributor in distance education for his development of the JASON Project, which reaches more than 1 million students annually. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for his lifetime of achievements.
