Soil is composed of minerals, water, air and organic matter. Soil is formed on the surface of the Earth, which can be referred to as the skin of the earth.
Soil plays a vital role in the growth of plants and animals, such as mice, that live in it. Soil helps plants grow by providing nutrients to absorb and a place for the roots of the plant to grow.
Water is absorbed in soil, and it is held for use by plants. The water cycle is continued when it is purified by the soil, allowing it to be used repeatedly.
