What are the four types of membranes?
By Forinfos - 16/09/2025 - 0 comments
The different types of membranes in the human body are the meninges membrane, mucous membrane, serous membrane and synovial membrane. Each membrane lines different parts of the body and serves different functions.
The meninges protects the brain and spinal cord. Mucous membranes line parts of the digestive, reproductive, urinary and respiratory systems and protect the body from infection. Serous membranes line the heart, lungs and other internal organs in the abdominal cavity. Membranes both support and compartmentalize large, vital organs. Synovial membranes serve as lubrication between the cavities in moving joints. They secrete fluid between joints to help them move more easily.
