What are four ways to use cinnamon for help with diabetes?

According to a study published in Diabetes Care, cinnamon reduces serum glucose, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol in people that have type 2 diabetes. These effects were seen in subjects that took as little as 1 gram of cinnamon over a 40-day period.

Another study published in the Proceedings of the Nutrition Society determined the reduction in glucose was due to an increase in insulin sensitivity in subjects with type 2 diabetes. However, WebMD notes that people with liver problems need to avoid consuming high doses. Because cinnamon is classified as a food and not a drug, manufacturers do not have to prove their product is safe or effective. Choose a brand that has a quality seal to ensure it contains the ingredients marked on the label.
