What is an FPO AP address?

An FPO/APO address is an official address used to send mail to a person stationed overseas while serving in the United States military. FPO stands for Fleet Post Office. APO stands for Air/Army Post Office.
When sending mail to an APO/FPO address, the full name of the recipient must be listed on the package. The military branch and unit information is also included. Mail being sent to these addresses can be sent for the same price as other domestic packages. Before mailing packages to APO/FPO addresses, the sender must make sure that the package contents don't violate the current restrictions for that area. Contacting the Unites States Postal Service is one way to find out about restrictions.
