What is a freeze protection thermostat?
By Forinfos - 24/05/2025 - 0 comments
A freeze protection thermostat keeps pipes from freezing by turning on an electric heating appliance when the temperature reaches a preset level. Frozen pipes that burst in extreme cold cause a plumbing nightmare in residential homes and in commercial and industrial buildings.
The freeze protection thermostat activates a cable that is wrapped around a pipe in order to provide heat when necessary. These thermostats are compatible with a wide spectrum of electric heating cables and other devices as well. In case of a water-line freeze, some thermostats work with an in-line heater to help thaw the pipe before it bursts.
