Is the Find My Friends app only for the iPhone?

While the Find My Friends app developed by Apple is compatible only with the iPhone, there are several similarly named location-based apps available for Android devices, such as the Find My Friends app developed by nLiteApps. This app is available for free in the Google Play store.

Find My Friends by nLiteApps utilizes four different contact domains — Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, and phone/tablet contacts — to allow the user to share his location with friends in real time. Results are tracked on Google Maps and are only revealed to the user's approved friends. Map zones can be defined within the app, alerting users when friends have entered such zones. No account creation is required.
