Is Frieze carpet any good?

According to the Carpet Buyers Handbook, frieze carpet holds up better to foot traffic than trackless or textured carpet. Of all carpet sold, Frieze carpet is one of two best-selling carpets. Berber is the only other carpet that sells as well.
A true frieze carpet has two strands of yarn that are tightly twisted together. The twist causes the yarn to turn back on itself, forming kinks in the strands. The strands of yarn lay in all directions, without pile, hiding heavy foot traffic.
Consumers often confuse true frieze carpeting with trackless or textured carpeting. Frieze carpet has a higher carpet twist level than trackless and textured carpets.
