How does Frontline work?

Frontline is a topical pet medication that contains fipronil and S-methoprene, two chemicals fatal to fleas and ticks. The medication begins to kill the parasites after four hours and completely eradicates them after 12 hours.
Frontline is available for dogs of all sizes and cats. Pet owners apply the instructed amount to the back of the animal in the neck area. This prevents the animal from licking or scratching the medicated area. The medicine works for about 30 days and works even after baths. Any pet under 8 weeks of age should not receive the medication because illness may result.
