What fruits and vegetables grow on vines?

Some examples of fruits and vegetables that grow on vines include beans, tomatoes, watermelons, cucumbers and grapes. A vine is basically any plant that grows and extends through the use of runners.
These plants are also sometimes referred to as climbers. A good way to grow a vine plant is through the use of a trellis. A trellis features an open framework, which allows the plant to grow up and out with support. Without support, the thin branches can easily break under the weight of the fruit. Some fruits, such as grapes, can spoil when grown on the ground and not trellised.
