Are fuchsias poisonous?

No part of the fuchsia plant is poisonous to humans. In addition, the ASPCA lists the most common cultivar of fuchsia as nontoxic to most animals, including cats, dogs and horses.
There have also been no widespread allergy or irritation issues caused by fuchsia plants, although allergies depend highly on the individual. In fact, the berries of the fuchsia plant are often used to create jams or jellies, though some fuchsia variants have tasteless or bad-tasting fruit that is less suitable for this purpose. The flowers are also used as garnishes in many recipes due to their bright color; however most fuchsia flowers have a bitter taste that is sometimes compared to endive.
