According to Car and Driver, the Dodge Ram 2500 can be expected to get an average of 11 to 12 miles per gallon depending on the year and engine type of the vehicle. In tests, the Ram 2500 Hemi averaged 11 MPG while the Ram 2500 Diesel averaged 12.
In the model review that Car and Driver produces for most vehicles, fuel economy is at the top of the list of negative attributes for the Dodge Ram 2500. To quote the review, this vehicle "guzzles [fuel] like a frat boy at a kegger." Due to its size, the engine is required to work at eight-tenths, seven-tenths of the time.
