Where is the fuel pump relay located in a vehicle?

Usually fuel-pump relays are beneath the dashboard by the steering column. Sometimes the relay is near where the steering column is attached or close to the engine's firewall. The end of the relay is often beneath the carpet, in the center of the passenger's or driver's side footwell.
A fuel-pump relay turns on the fuel pump once the engine is running and turns off the fuel pump once the car is turned off. If a car owner is having trouble starting the vehicle, the fuel-pump relay could be the issue. Common problems associated with a damaged relay are the car dying a few minutes after starting and the fuel pump making a loud clicking or humming noise.
